Google & Meta ads

Every pound, accounted for.

Most agencies send you a dashboard. We send you the receipt: what went in, what came back, what it cost to get one enquiry, and what we are changing next month. If a campaign is not paying, you will hear it from us first.

Ads are not always the answer.

Paid advertising buys attention. It cannot buy a reason to choose you. Before we take a budget we check the boring things, because spending money to send people to a page that does not convert is the fastest way to hate advertising.

  • Good idea when

People are already searching for what you sell, you can handle more work than you have, and you know roughly what a customer is worth to you.

  • Also good when

You have something time-limited: a launch, a seasonal push, a new location, a competition closing on Sunday. Ads are the only channel that moves on your timetable.

  • Bad idea when

Your website does not explain what you do or make it easy to get in touch. Fix that first; we will say so rather than take the retainer.

  • Also bad when

Nobody is searching for your category yet, and the budget you have is under a few hundred pounds a month. Below that, ads rarely gather enough data to get out of their own way.

Four things, done properly.

We would rather run two channels well than spread a small budget across six. Here is what each one is actually for, so you can tell us which ones sound like your customers.

Google Search
Demand that already existsSomeone types what you sell and you appear above the results. The highest intent traffic there is, and usually where we start. Best for services people look for when they need them.
Meta ads
Demand you createFacebook and Instagram put you in front of people who were not looking. Slower to settle, but unbeatable for products, offers and anything visual. Needs decent creative to work at all.
Retargeting
The people who nearly boughtMost visitors leave without doing anything. Retargeting brings back the ones who got as far as your prices or your basket. Cheap, and usually the best performing thing in the account.

Performance Max sits alongside these when a shop has a proper product feed. It hands more control to Google than we would normally like, so we only use it where the numbers earn it, and we always run it next to a Search campaign we can actually steer.

Work it out backwards

What should you actually spend?

Almost everyone picks a budget by feel. Work backwards instead: start with the customers you want, and the number falls out of the maths.

The sums use a cost per enquiry of £20 to £60, which is the range we typically see on Google Search for UK service businesses. Competitive sectors like law, cosmetic and trades in big cities run higher; niche products run lower. We will give you a real figure once we can see your account and your area.

Want the real number for your business?

Send us your website and we will come back with what your competitors are paying per click in your area, a realistic budget, and whether we think ads are right for you at all.

Replies come from the founder, not a sales team. If ads are wrong for you, we will say so.

The report you actually wanted.

One page, once a month, written by the person running your account. No 40-slide deck, no impressions charts, no jargon designed to make the work sound harder than it is.

  • What we spent, split by campaign, next to what you agreed
  • How many enquiries, calls and sales came from it
  • What one enquiry cost, and how that compares to last month
  • What we changed and why, in the same plain English we use on the phone
  • What we are changing next, and anything we need from you
  • If something is not working: what we are stopping, and when

A flat fee, not a slice of your spend.

Percentage-of-spend pricing rewards an agency for talking you into a bigger budget. We charge a flat monthly fee instead, so the only reason to raise your spend is that the numbers say it is working.

From £450 a month.

Management from £450/mo for one platform, £750/mo for two. Your ad budget is separate and paid straight to Google or Meta on your own card, so you can see every penny of it. Three-month start, then rolling monthly. Ad creative (images, short video, copy) is included; a full photo or video day is quoted separately.

Indicative pricing for the prototype. Final figures to be confirmed before launch.

What that covers

  • Account setup or audit and clean-up of what is already there
  • Keyword, audience and competitor research
  • Ad copy, images and short video edits
  • Conversion tracking that actually fires, including calls
  • Weekly optimisation, not set and forget
  • Landing page recommendations, and the build if you want it
  • One honest monthly report and a call whenever you want one

If it does not pay, we tell you to stop.

We run paid campaigns for competition platforms and product brands every week, which means we have turned plenty of campaigns off. Knowing when to stop is most of the skill, and it is the part nobody advertises.

The questions everyone asks about ads.

How much should I spend on ads?

Work backwards from the customers you want. For most UK service businesses an enquiry from Google Search costs somewhere between £20 and £60, so ten extra customers a month at a one in three close rate means roughly £600 to £1,800 of ad spend. The budget planner above does that sum for you, and we will give you a proper figure once we can see your sector and your area.

Do you charge a percentage of ad spend?

No. Management is a flat monthly fee, so we have no incentive to talk you into spending more than the account needs. Your ad budget goes directly to Google or Meta on your own card.

Who owns the ad account?

You do, always. We work inside your Google Ads and Meta accounts rather than our own. If you ever leave, everything stays with you: the history, the audiences, the conversion data, all of it.

How quickly do ads work?

Google Search can bring enquiries in the first week, because you are meeting demand that already exists. Meta usually takes three to four weeks to settle while it learns who responds. Month one is data. Month two is where it starts to pay.

Is there a long contract?

Three months to start, because judging an ad account on four weeks is not fair on either of us. After that it rolls monthly and you can stop with a month’s notice.

Can you run ads without doing my SEO or social?

Yes. Ads can run on their own. We will tell you honestly if the page you are sending traffic to is going to waste the budget, and we can fix that page separately if you want us to.

What is the difference between this and paid social?

Paid social is one part of this. Our social media page covers the organic side: content planned, written and scheduled every month. This page covers advertising across both Google and Meta. Plenty of clients take one without the other.
